The Argentine talent is set to head to Vicarage Road.
Watford have impressed back in the Premier League with some shrewd recruitment and loyalty to the right players working wonders for The Hornets. Today's 3-0 win against Liverpool art Vicarage Road might even go down as one of the club's greatest ever wins.
The club have always managed to bring in top talent from Italian football, courtesy of their ownership by the Italian Pozzo family.
Now it seems they have their eyes on a top talent in Juan Manuel Iturbe.
Tutto Mercato Web reported last week that Watford have been in touch with Roma about signing the Argentine talent who was one of Europe's most wanted talents last summer. The Giallorossi are reportedly open to loaning the player to Watford in January with a buy-out option.
Now the player has posted this cryptic message on Instagram, suggesting he is on his way out of Roma.
In the message he states:
"Whatever decision I'll take and that will be taken about my future, I wanted to take this opportunity to show my affection the city of Rome and all Roma fans.
"Unfortunately, things did not go as hoped, and I am the first to suffer...
"The only certainty is that I wore, with pride and honor, the Giallorossi jersey. I always gave 100%, without exemption ever. For this shirt I suffered, wept and rejoiced But we must have the courage and humility in life to get up and continue to believe in ourselves.
"Maybe this is not a goodbye. In that case I will return 'more' stronger than ever.
These colors are forever in my heart that I have honored and respected. I thank the club, the coaching staff and especially to Walter [Sabatini], who has always supported me in difficult moments.
"But above all I thank my teammates, and I wish him all the best of success forever, Forza Roma!"
That certainly sounds like a goodbye and it looks like Watford are on the verge of securing another eye-catching signing at Vicarage Road.
The Argentine Under-20 talent should be an excellent signing for The Hornets and hopefully the deal will come off.
