Aston Villa played out a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday.

Aston Villa midfielder Carlos Sanchez has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to his side’s performance against Newcastle United on Saturday evening.

Villa played out a 1-1 draw with fellow relegation candidates Newcastle at St. James’ Park in the Premier League.

Fabricio Coloccini put the hosts in the lead in the 38th minute, and Jordan Ayew restored parity for the Villans just past the hour mark.

Sanchez, who started the encounter and played for the entire 90 minutes, was pleased with the effort he and his Villa teammates put in.

Jordan Amavi, who is out for the rest of the season, was also pleased with the point earned.

Villa are at the foot of the Premier League table at the moment with just seven points from 17 matches.

Remi Garde’s side are as many as 10 points behind 17th-place Newcastle.

The Villans will take on West Ham United at Villa Park in the league on Boxing Day.
