Jimmy Case and Robbie Fowler lay into performance of Emre Can

The Liverpool legends were not impressed.

The honeymoon period for Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool is now well and truly over. After a struggle to draw with West Brom last week they were thumped by Watford at Vicarage Road earlier today.

Inspired by Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney Watford romped to victory, although Adam Bogdan had a Premier League debut for Liverpool to forget.

But while a lot of the criticism was levelled at the Hungarian keeper it was a generally poor performance across the board.

Roberto Firmino was dire, Adam Lallana found out and even Martin Skrtel had a day to forget before succumbing to injury.

But Emre Can got into some real stick from two former Liverpool players.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live former Liverpool midfielder Jimmy Case had this to say about the German midfielder:

"He seems to have no vision whatsoever.

"It was Can's fault yet again - he lost possession in the build up to the goal and he nearly cost Liverpool earlier.

"He went racing over the far side like a bull in a china shop.

"I don't understand what he does in the middle - he doesn't dominate, he doesn't pass well and he has no vision."

But Robbie Fowler was not impressed either. 'God', as he is known was not impressed with the performance of the German in centre midfield:

Can's popularity hit an all-time high when he provided the pendulum effort as Liverpool thrashed Manchester City. But the player has not been at his best recently and he will need to turn up soon if he is to win over his doubters.
