Sheffield Wednesday beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-1 at Hillsborough earlier today.
Wednesday beat Wolves 4-1 and the Portuguese boss was pleased with his side’s attacking threat.
The Owls have generally built their success this season around the strength of their back-line, but they were ruthless in front of goal on Sunday afternoon.
“Today, the team were a little more offensive also," Carvalhal said.
“We didn’t start well, but after 15 minutes, we started to control the game and we produced a fantastic score and performance with some goals against a difficult opponent who were organised.”
Wednesday actually went behind in the fixture when Benik Afobe netted an early penalty for the visitors, but they never looked back after drawing level.
Fernando Forestieri scored twice, before goals from Daniel Pudil and Gary Hooper completed the rout.
Wednesday ended up having 24 shots in the contest, with Forestieri racking up a staggering 12 of those attempts by himself.
The win has lifted Carvalhal’s men into seventh place in the Championship table and they are now just one point outside the play-off places heading into the busy Christmas and New Year period.
