Report: Kevin Grosskreutz performs U-turn on German return, wants Liverpool move instead

The former Borussia Dortmund star would be reuniting with Jurgen Klopp

Turkish paper Takvim reported this month that Kevin Grosskreutz, who won the World Cup with Germany in 2014, had agreed a three-year-deal to join Liverpool from Galatasaray.

Grosskreutz has not featured once for the Turkish side since leaving Borussia Dortmund in the summer and is now said to be up for sale. He was not registered in time by Galatasaray for the first-half of the season and he has become disillusioned with the situation.

But the German World Cup winner, who is currently training with sixth tier German side Westfalia Wickede, has been reportedly keen on returning to Germany when he makes his move.

According to one report yesterday that is no longer the case.

Turkish source Webaslan are claiming that he has no desire to head back to Germany if Liverpool are indeed interested. Instead he would much rather link up with his former boss at Borussia Dortmund Jurgen Klopp but at Anfield.

Grosskreutz would provide excellent cover for Liverpool as he can play on both wings and at full-back in both the left and right positions.
