The in-form Belgian made some more history, even if his Everton side aren't exactly on fire right now.
Although Jamie Vardy might be taking all the plaudits for his goalscoring exploits in the Premier League this season, it's easy to forget there's another clinical forward in town.
Indeed, Everton's Romelu Lukaku has been in fine form for Roberto Martinez's side and looks like he could even challenge Vardy's recent goalscoring record for consecutive matches.
And, against the Foxes, the Belgian striker managed to bag his eighth goal in just seven games in the Premier League for the Toffees.
Everton ended up losing the game 3-2 but Lukaku and Toffees fans can take some solace in the fact their most expensive signing in history broke a 61-year-old record on Saturday.
8 - Romelu Lukaku is the 1st Everton player to score in eight successive matches in all comps since Dave Hickson between Jan-Mar 1954. Great— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) December 19, 2015
The 22-year-old can build on his scoring record and move towards Vardy's consecutive Premier League record of netting in 11 games when Everton take on Newcastle in Boxing Day's late kick-off next Saturday.
Can Lukaku match Vardy's record or will he fall short? And can Martinez's side respond to match the young forward's energy levels - or will he continue to carry the Toffees while their form eludes them on Merseyside?
