Arsene Wenger names the best player in the world

Is Barcelona forward Lionel Messi better than former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo and ex-Liverpool ace Luis Suarez at the moment?

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told The Sun that Barcelona forward Lionel Messi is the best player in the world.

“Maybe Messi,” said the Frenchman when asked who he thinks is the best player.

Messi is one of the greatest players of all time, and many will agree with Wenger that he is the best footballer on the planet at the moment.

The Argentina international forward recently returned from a spell on the sidelines and has been in superb form.

The 28-year-old has been on top of his game for almost 10 years, and it is this consistency which sets him apart.

However, one should not forget Cristiano Ronaldo. Although the former Manchester United star has not been in exceptional form this season, he remains a world-class footballer.

Ronaldo has not done enough for Real Madrid in big games this campaign, but the fact that he is in the running for 2015 FIFA Ballon d’Or award shows his class.

Barcelona duo Neymar and Luis Suarez should also be in the picture when discussing about the best player in the world.

Brazil international forward Neymar is one of the three final nominees for the Ballon d’Or, while former Liverpool striker Suarez has taken his game to a whole new level since moving to Barcelona in the summer of 2014.
