The Villains face three relegation rivals over Christmas.
His side are currently rooted firmly to the bottom of the Premier League tabe, with just six points from 16 games.
That leaves them eight points from safety, with Swansea City currently sitting in 17th place on 14 points.
They are winless since the opening day of the season, but now have run of games which see them take on Newcastle United, Norwich, and Sunderland in their next four games.
And Garde says he is targeting at least two wins from those games against their relegation rivals.
"I am totally focused on the next four games,” he told avfc.co.uk
"We have four games coming up and we need at least six points minimum. I still believe that in these matches my team can switch the way things are going at the moment.”
"We are playing direct rivals over this festive period. I see this as an opportunity for us to be back in the race.”
While Villa will be boosted by the fact they are facing their relegation rivals over the busy festive period, they will know things are going to be tough.
Newcastle United have picked up over recent weeks with wins over Liverpool and Tottenham seriously lifting their confidence.
Norwich and Sunderland haven’t been as impressive but have picked up, with the Canaries in particular securing a vital point against Everton last weekend.
So while Garde says he is targeting two wins, he’ll know they won’t be easy to attain.
