Wilkins said: “25 points already they've [Watford] got. Back-to-back wins are hard enough in the Premier League, let alone three on the spin. I’ve just got a feeling though, Liverpool away from home are performing - at home, they’re not as good. So I’m going for a Liverpool win.”
Liverpool head into the game actually behind Watford, with the Hornets on 25 points after 16 games and the Reds sitting on 24.
With a win over their opponents on Sunday, Watford could move to within one point of the top four, dependent on results which have come before them in the weekend.
However, the Reds do arrive at Vicarage Road with a big reputation, and a strong record away from home under Jurgen Klopp, and many will be tipping them for success.
They are still seen as a big club, and although Watford have been flying high this season, it would not be a surprise to see the Merseyside club starting the game as favourites for all three points.
Wilkins believes that Liverpool will win the tie, with their away record setting them up for three points that will take them above the Hornets.
However, he does take time to praise Watford, highlighting their impressive tally of three successive Premier League wins, which is no mean feat for a club who were tipped for relegation by all at the beginning of the season.
