Michael Owen believes former side Newcastle United will beat struggling Aston Villa.
A fortnight ago the fixture looked like a six-pointer survival scrap, and to some extent still is, but back to back wins for Newcastle against Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have elevated them up the table.
Newcastle are at home for the 5.30pm Saturday kick-off, and will hope to use the home crowd in their favour against Remi Garde's struggling Aston Villa side.
Villa have won only one game this season and have just six points, and are six points adrift from 19th place.
Speaking to BetVictor, Owen recommended that punters back Newcastle for all three points.
He said: "Spurs were disappointing in their 2-1 defeat to Newcastle on Sunday but all credit to Magpies boss Steve McClaren who made some terrific substitutions at just the right time to leave North London with all three points.
"With confidence restored Newcastle should make light work of an Aston Villa side that haven’t won since their 1-0 defeat of Bournemouth on the opening day of the season and are winless in their last 8 trips to St James’ Park."
Villa have scored only 13 times in 16 games this season, but Newcastle have conceded the most goals in the Premier League, at 31, so Garde's side could have some success.
It is Villa who follow Newcastle, having conceded 30 goals, and with Newcastle in form, this could be a high scoring game, though the visitors will be keen to avoid allowing six goals past them like Norwich City did last month.
