Mauricio: "We need to assess @mousadembele today. Clinton has picked up a knee ligament injury & maybe we will be without him for a while."— Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) December 18, 2015
Spurs will definitely be without Ryan Mason and Clinton N’Jie for the trip to the South Coast, whilst there could be a bigger loss with Mousa Dembele still not fully fit.
Pochettino has confirmed that Dembele will be assessed today ahead of the game, and if he is not 100%, it is unlikely that the Belgian midfielder will travel with the squad to St Mary’s Stadium.
N’Jie looks to be out of an extended period of time, with Pochettino confirming that the young winger has suffered a knee ligament injury. Although the head coach has not stated a potential return date for the youngster, it is likely that N’Jie will be out until at least midway through January judging by previous injuries of a similar style.
Aside from the injuries highlighted by Pochettino, Spurs should be able to take on Southampton with a full squad, as they look to pick up their first league win since the 4-1 thrashing of Newcastle on November 22.
