Watford v Liverpool predicted lineups and match preview

Watford are flying high in the Premier League in seventh place on the back of three consecutive wins, and are a point and two places ahead of Liverpool going into this weekend's game.

To be played on Sunday 20th December 2015 at 13:30. Venue: Vicarage Road, Watford

Odds: Watford 16/5, Draw 13/15, Liverpool 21/20

The Hornets were perhaps not expecting to be ahead of Liverpool going into this fixture, but they are after winning each of their last three games. The Reds are going to be in for a tough time by the looks of things.

Liverpool carried a lot of momentum into December but a defeat to Newcastle United halted that, although they avoided back-to-back league defeats through a Divock Origi equaliser against West Bromwich Albion.

In order to keep up the pressure on the top-four places the Merseyside outfit need to leave Vicarage Road with all three points to ensure that gap of five points doesn't grow before the turn of the year to ensure they remain well in contention.

It would of course be churlish to rule Watford out of things but given this is their first season back in the top flight, they will have exceed their expectations. They were quietly going about their business, but have started to get noticed given their recent run of three consecutive wins has catapulted them into contention for the European places.
