Fulham and Maccabi Tel Aviv in talks over Slavisa Jokanovic

HITC Sport understands that the two clubs are in talks about compensation.

Fulham have opened talks with Maccabi Tel Aviv over a compensation package for their manager Slavisa Joakanovic, but Garry Monk is also waiting in the wings if a deal is not struck, HITC Sport understands.

HITC Sport revealed earlier this week that ex-Chelsea midfielder Jokanovic was still  their prime candidate to replace Kit Symons as head coach.

Stuart Gray has been appointed as interim boss, and he is set to maintain a place on the staff of the new manager but he won't be in charge.

HITC Sport understands that the former Watford boss is keen to take up the move to Craven Cottage and move back to England.

Fulham want the deal completing in the next 48 hours but if talks with Israeli outfit Maccabi do not come to fruition then they are ready to open talks with former Swansea boss Garry Monk.

Fulham currently sit 18th in the Championship table.
