Everton and Newcastle fans react on Twitter to Sam Byram's performance

Fans of Premier League sides were impressed with Sam Byram's performance for Leeds United.

Sam Byram produced the performance Leeds fans have been waiting for all season as he scored two goals to help his club beat Wolves 3-2.

Byram was selected in midfield with Scott Wootton at right-back, and made the most of his chance to attack.

The 22-year-old becomes a free agent at the end of the season and has yet to agree a new contract with Leeds.

This has led to him being in and out of the starting line-up this season, and his form has struggled.

Gaetano Berardi's injury suffered at Charlton may have given Byram breathing room mentally, knowing with the Swiss defender out of eight weeks, he has a chance to establish his role in the team, and not be straight out again if he performed poorly.

Perhaps a more worrying reason for Byram's good performance, could have been that he was especially motivated with the game broadcast live on Sky, to put himself in the shop window for January.

Byram has been linked with Premier League clubs this month, with The Mirror reporting Everton and Sunderland have identified him as a potential target, while Newcastle are a club also linked by The Mirror.

This could have been the performance which hastens his exit from the club if Leeds are not careful, choosing the best or worst time to impress depending on your perspective.

Fans of Premier League sides liked what they saw from his display, with supporters of Everton, Sunderland and Newcastle all taking to Twitter to praise his display...
