Souleymane Doukara stunned everybody with a game changing performance for Leeds United.
Souleymane Doukara proved a point to everybody after an awful 2015 - with a stunning performance against Wolves.
Doukara scored five goals in the first half of last season for Leeds, but was frozen out by former head coach Neil Redfearn and failed to even make the bench regularly.
In pre-season he featured on the wing, but once Stuart Dallas was signed he was consigned to the bench, and has spent most of the season playing with the under-21s, and scoring regularly.
Last night he got the chance to show what he can do, brought off the bench midway through the first half with Tom Adeyemi off the pace, and head coach Steve Evans deciding to do a tactical change.
Doukara was a revelation, performing like a player knowing this may be his last chance at the club to impress.
He did exactly that, giving his Leeds career a lifeline, winning over supporters that previously derided him.
The 24-year-old Frenchman changed the game against Wolves in Leeds' favour, coming on a 1-0 down, but rebounding the go 3-1 up, conceding a late goal late on but seeing out the game for a 3-2 win.
His performance left fans astounded, looking like a very different player to his last start for the club. Here is a look at how supporters reacted on Twitter to his performance...
I thought Doukara was the biggest fraud since Ali Dia.. Outstanding #lufc— Jonathan (@J_OHarte) December 17, 2015
What's this? Doukara playing like David Silva?! #lufc— Joe Thrush (@Josephjthrush) December 17, 2015
Never did anyone see Doukara changing that apart from Evans. At some point he has to be given some credit. #lufc— . (@deancore) December 17, 2015
