Jake Livermore smashed in a last-minute winner for Hull City against Reading yesterday evening.
The central midfielder, who was wearing the captain’s armband, smashed the ball into the back of the net for his side as they secured an important three points.
Hull have moved to within two points of top of the table Middlesbrough, as a result of their victory over the Royals, but they had to work hard for the win.
Nick Blackman had hit Reading into the lead after scoring a wonderful strike in the first half of the contest, but Hull hit back in the second period.
Abel Hernandez drew Steve Bruce’s side level in the 62nd minute of the match before Livermore hit the winner.
The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder’s strike sparked wild celebrations at the KC Stadium, and two of his former teammates were quick to congratulate him on social media.
McLean, who played with Livermore at Hull, and Jenas, who was teammates with the 26-year-old at White Hart Lane, both sent him messages on Twitter after the match.
