Jose Mourinho has parted company with Chelsea after a poor campaign at Stamford Bridge.
The Portuguese boss led the side to the League Cup and Premier League double in his second stint with the club last season but has failed to carry on that form this term.
His players have been poor and as a result the club sit 16th in the Premier League.
With that in mind, he was always going to struggle justifying his continued employment.
Poor result after another cost the boss. The most recent was the 2-1 defeat to high-flying Leicester City. But defeat at Stamford Bridge to Bournemouth didn't help much.
However, the man who scored the winning goal for Bournemouth in that game has now come out in support of Mourinho.
Glenn Murray took to Twitter to send this message to his followers:
How can you sack Mourinho? If his success doesn't buy time then no one is safe. #TheSpecialOne— Glenn Murray (@GM_83) December 17, 2015
There is no doubt that Mourinho's history might have given him a stay of execution but the Bournemouth player is probably forgetting that in the cut-throat world of football today Mourinho was lucky to make it a week before Christmas.
