BBC pundit John Hartson predicts Jose Mourinho to head to Manchester United

The Welshman made the statement on Twitter.

Jose Mourinho is gone. After plenty of recent speculation the Portuguese 'Special One' has parted company with the club after a terrible run of form saw the title holders run into a relegation battle.

His departure will go down as one of the more high profile falls from grace in the Premier League after a difficult season seemingly ended with defeat at the King Power Stadium against high-flying Leicester City.

So what next for Jose?

One former Wales international and current BBC pundit certainly has his thoughts.

John Hartson sent out this tweet not long after the official confirmation of Mourinho's departure came out:

So could Mourinho end up at Manchester United?

The fans are becoming weary of Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford and their recent elimination from the Champions League put pressure on the Dutchman.

Sir Alex Ferguson is a big fan of Mourinho's and you would struggle to find a manager with a better track record available for United if or when it is time for Louis van Gaal to move on.

Mourinho to United, watch this space.
