The Arsenal boss has been discussing his German play-maker.
Arsenal’s club-record signing has been in outstanding form this season, scoring four goals and providing 13 assists in 22 matches to date.
Such has been Ozil’s resurgence that he has scored or assisted at least one goal in each of Arsenal’s last 10 Premier League matches, playing a vital role in the Gunners’ moving to second in the table approaching the halfway stage of the campaign.
There is still plenty of football to be played, but Wenger for one knows how lucky he is to have a player of Ozil’s quality at his disposal.
Speaking ahead of the Gunners’ huge league clash with third-placed Manchester City on Monday, Wenger said of Ozil, “He is the main provider in our team. Players who make you score are difficult to find.”
The resurgent Olivier Giroud for one has plenty to thank the German international for and it will be interesting to see if the former Real Madrid man can maintain his excellent record when he comes face to face with Manuel Pellegrini’s expensively-assembled squad next week.
