The Hammers are currently suffering with an injury crisis, with many of their key attacking talents facing spells on the side-lines.
With so many players on the treatment table Antonio has been given a chance to impress in recent matches, and Adrian has urged the former Nottingham Forest man to take his opportunity.
“We have five or six key injuries and we have many games coming up during the Christmas period, so our team spirit needs to be good,” he said. “Other players like Antonio now have their choice, so they need to play well and keep up our levels."
West Ham have failed to win any of their last five matches, with Manuel Lanzini’s and Dimitri Payet’s absences being keenly felt.
The Hammers have lacked their usual creative spark in their most recent outings, and they have not hit the back of the net for their last two matches.
Antonio did put in a man of the match performance against Stoke City at the weekend though, and he has looked reasonably impressive since finally breaking through.
The powerful winger will now be hoping to add goals to his game in the coming weeks, as he looks to stake his claim for a first-team place after making a slow start at Upton Park.
