Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend intrigued by Newcastle United move

Sunderland, Southampton, Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United are all credited with an interest in the Tottenham Hotspur winger.

According to the London Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend is keen on a move to Newcastle United in January.

Sunderland, Southampton, Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion are all said to be interested in signing Townsend, but the England international is allegedly intrigued by a move to Tyneside.

Although Newcastle have started the season slowly, Townsend is said to be enthused by a potential move to St. James’ Park and Tottenham are said to be willing to sell Townsend in January, as the winger has fallen out of favour at White Hart Lane.

The 24-year-old has not made a Premier League start this season, and his chances of breaking through into Mauricio Pochettino’s team look slim.

Townsend has played twice for Spurs’ development side recently, just to try to regain some match sharpness.

Tottenham are said to be looking for around £6million for the winger, although they will be hoping that a bidding war could take place in the new year, forcing that price up.
