Birmingham City drew 1-1 with Preston North End at Deepdale last night.
Demarai Gray has admitted on social media site Twitter that he should have done better with his chance in the final minute of Birmingham City’s match against Preston North End yesterday evening.
With the score locked at 1-1 Gray raced through on goal in added time, but he skewed his shot wide.
The miss meant that the points had to be shared between the two sides, and Gray admits that he was disappointed not to secure the win for his team, who were excellent in the second half of the contest.
Should of done better with my chance at the end . They'll come... Brilliant second half performance— DG (@Demarai7) December 15, 2015
Gray is only 19, but he made his 75th senior appearance for Birmingham on Tuesday evening.
It is a quite remarkable achievement for someone of such tender years and the winger was clearly pleased to have reached the landmark.
Also proud to make my 75th appearance at 19yo. Grateful Thanks for all Positive messages— DG (@Demarai7) December 15, 2015
Birmingham scored their goal in the contest through Michael Morrison, after he headed in a Stephen Gleeson free-kick.
And it was Gleeson’s delivery that David Davis, who only came on for the last minute of the contest, choose to focus on after the match.
Boys deserved way more than a point today @gleeson_stephen set piece specialist— David Davis (@Diggad1991) December 16, 2015
Birmingham’s draw with Preston has taken them up into eighth place in the Championship table.
