Celtic manager Ronny Deila has told The Scottish Sun that it looks like Leigh Griffiths will sign a new contract with the Bhoys.
Griffiths, 25, joined Celtic from Wolverhampton Wanderers back in January 2014, and he made an instant impact under Neil Lennon, hitting seven goals in 14 games.
The Scottish international has really impressed under the tutelage of Ronny Deila though, smashing 39 goals in 68 with the Norwegian at the helm.
Recent reports from The Scottish Sun suggested that Premier League sides Crystal Palace and Swansea City were eyeing up bids for Griffiths, but that the striker wasn't ready to leave Glasgow - and in fact wanted to extend his contract at Celtic Park.
Celtic boss Deila has now tackled a couple of contract situations involving the Bhoys, first telling The Scottish Sun that winger James Forrest is in line for a new deal.
Then, Deila addressed Griffiths' situation with Celtic, stating that it looks like he will be penning a new contract with the club - and having declared that it was 'very good news', he admitted that he believes Griffiths can become even better at Celtic.
"That is very good news that Leigh is ready to give his future here," said Deila. "He has just been unbelievable for us and he is a guy who scores every week — but he has potential to get even better. We are delighted that it looks as though he is ready to sign a longer deal here with us because he has been so important. He has shown that he is strong enough to play at this club," he added.
