Leicester City’s N’Golo Kante has been superb this season.
Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez both got on the score-sheet – two players who have dominated the headlines this season – yet Lineker reserved special praise for Kante who was once again brilliant in midfield.
Many deserved plaudits for Vardy & Mahrez, but if there has been a better signing than Kante this season, I haven't seen him.— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) diciembre 14, 2015
Kante arrived at Leicester from Caen in the summer, having been identified as a replacement for last season’s fan favourite Esteban Cambiasso who left on a free after his contract expired.
The 24-year-old has been an ever-present in the Foxes' starting XI since joining, and only Vardy's and Mahrez’s astonishing displays have seemingly kept him out of the limelight.

As seen by the table provided by Opta Stats, Kante’s brilliant performances this season can be illustrated by his contributions over a number of key areas in midfield.
The Paris-born star averages 2.88 tackles, 4.13 interceptions, 5.94 defensive duels won and 7.81 ball recoveries per Premier League fixture, tallies bettering most.
Moreover, in possession he is forever calm and assured as he often instigates quick Leicester counterattacks from deep, averaging 50.88 touches and 28.75 accurate passes per match.
Interestingly, Kante’s rise to the top is somewhat similar to that of striker Vardy as he also started off in the lower-leagues, beginning his career at French minnows Boulogne.
