Sam Allardyce is looking ahead to the busy Christmas period.
Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce has taken to Twitter in order to issue a rallying cry to Black Cats supporters ahead of the Christmas period.
The Black Cats suffered a disappointing 1-0 home defeat to Watford on Saturday afternoon, with Odion Ighalo scrambling the ball home from close range at the Stadium of Light.
The result leaves Sunderland second bottom of the Premier League table, with just 12 points from 16 games, and two points from safety, leaving new manager Allardyce with a big challenge on his hands to keep the club in the Premier League.
Now, Sunderland face a daunting task over Christmas, with some incredible difficult fixtures facing the Black Cats in the coming weeks.
This weekend they travel to a struggling Chelsea side, before heading away to Manchester City on Boxing Day in another tough match.
Sunderland then host Liverpool on the 30th of December, and then bottom club Aston Villa visit the Stadium of Light on the 2nd of January, with a real relegation scrap opening up 2016.
Allardyce's men aren't expected to pick up many points over the festive period, but 'Big Sam' has taken to Twitter in order to rally the fans together, sending a message to the Sunderland supporters.
If Sunderland are to succeed over Christmas and push towards survival, they will need their fans to play a huge part, either through being patient with them in difficult games against Chelsea, City and Liverpool, or creating a great atmosphere for the vital game against Aston Villa.
