Report claims John Stones has made a decision about his Everton future

John Stones will be staying at Everton in January, according to reports.

According to the Daily Mail, Everton defender John Stones has decided he wants to stay at Goodison Park - but will review his future in the summer.

Stones, 21, has become one of the top defenders in the Premier League since leaving Barnsley for Everton back in January 2013, and he's even made himself a regular in the England squad.

The classy centre back, who thrives at bringing the ball out from the back, has formed a superb partnership in the heart of the Everton defence alongside veteran Phil Jagielka, but his performances under Roberto Martinez have triggered interest in his signature.

The Daily Mirror recently reported that Manchester United have joined Chelsea in the race for Stones' signature, after Everton refused to sell the defender to Chelsea over the summer.

Now though, with the January transfer window just a matter of weeks away, Stones has seemingly made a decision about his immediate future on Merseyside.

The Daily Mail report that Stones has no intention of leaving Everton in January, as he wants to make sure that he plays regular first-team football every week ahead of England's Euro 2016 campaign next summer.

However, it's also stated that Stones will look to review his position at Everton at the end of the season, meaning that whilst a decision has been made for January, Everton aren't quite out of the woods just yet, and can surely expect more interest in Stones next summer.
