Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton go head-to-head this weekend.
Tottenham Hotspur’s players have been put through their paces ahead of the weekend clash with Southampton, as Mauricio Pochettino’s men look to put their 2-1 defeat against Newcastle United behind them.
Spurs had gone 14 league matches undefeated heading into that clash, but despite taking a first-half lead through midfielder Eric Dier Tottenham lost focus in the second period and ultimately allowed Aleksandar Mitrovic and Ayoze Perez to seal all three points for the Magpies.
Despite that setback there are still plenty of reasons for Tottenham fans to be cheerful and Pochettino will have the perfect chance to get some positivity back into his troops when he returns to his old club on Saturday.
The Tottenham boss knows Southampton extremely well from his time in charge on the south coast and he will currently be working out the best way to get one over Ronald Koeman’s side.
Among those Tottenham players in training on Tuesday were 18-year-old attacking midfielder Josh Onomah, who made his first start for the club against AS Monaco last week, and £22million summer signing Heung-Min Son, who will be hoping to play better after his disappointing showing against Newcastle.
