Dexter Blackstock led the line for Forest, but struggled to make an impact, starved of service but also failing to spark anything himself.
He lasted 87 minutes before he was substituted for Chris O'Grady, who immediately got stuck in, making eight touches.
By comparison Dexter Blackstock managed to touch the ball only 20 times.
The 29-year-old never looked close to adding to his goal tally of two this season, failing to have a shot at goal during the match at Ewood Park.
O'Grady is a player who has his limitations, but Blackstock did little to show he should remain as a starter for Forest's next encounter.
The positives for Forest are that they managed to keep a clean sheet, but with Blackburn equally as blunt in attack it was an opportunity missed for Dougie Freedman's side.
