Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj is off on holiday, when they really need him

Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj is scheduled to have a winter break as part of his loan at Borussia Dortmund.

Manchester United's decision to send Adnan Januzaj out on loan was one of the more perplexing moves they made in the summer.

The talented youngster was loaned to Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, despite scoring a winning goal in a drab August encounter away at Aston Villa.

His creative spark was one the Red Devils could have done with at the weekend, and last week, as United suffered back to back defeats to Wolfsburg and Bournemouth.

Januzaj meanwhile is heading off on holiday, as the Bundesliga packs up for it's annual Winter break.

He told "I will go somewhere on holiday [this winter] to work by myself so hopefully I can do something in the second part of the season."

"I check the results as I'm a Manchester United player. I'm still in touch with my friends as I am from there. I'm happy to be a United player but also to come and get more experience abroad."

Januzaj has been in and out of the Dortmund side, which makes the loan look even more of a poor decision. At least if he was a guaranteed starter, there may have been a greater benefit.

Instead he could have been in the same position at United, relieving pressure on Memphis Depay, and also featuring up front, a position he showed he was capable in, netting against Barcelona in pre-season.

At the very least, United should have insisted on a clause in his loan deal that meant he could rejoin United while Dortmund have their Winter break, so he would be available for the upcoming matches, which include a clash against Chelsea over the next month.

It simply seems a waste of Januzaj's time, and the wages United are paying him, that he is off on holiday, when he could be back helping the team when they could really benefit from his availability.
