Taking a closer look at what Southampton could do in terms of transfers next month.
Southampton are having a decent Premier League campaign to date but their manager Ronald Koeman will want to see an improvement in 2016, with the club currently 12th in the top flight with 21 points from their 16 matches to date.
With just five points separating the Saints and fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, there is still plenty to be hopeful for in the second half of the season, but the January transfer window will give Koeman the perfect chance to strengthen his side if he sees fit.
The manager has already gone on record to say that if he signs anyone next month it will be an attack-minded player, and following a recent report from the Mirror that Southampton are tracking Brighton & Hove Albion winger Solly March, could the 21-year-old be the perfect addition?
A versatile player who can operate on either flank or as an attacking midfielder if required, March would be a worthy addition to Koeman’s squad and would give them an additional creative catalyst – and one not known to many top flight stars, potentially giving the Saints something of a secret weapon for the challenges ahead.
With that in mind we consider what Southampton’s starting line-up could be in early 2016.
