Former Leicester City striker Brian Deane is delighted to see them doing so well.
Former Leicester City striker Brian Deane is impressed with his former club's incredible achievements this season.
Deane took to Twitter the morning after their 2-1 victory to comment that whatever happens from here, their start to the 2015/16 season has been good for the English game.
Leicester City are a breath of fresh air for fans up and down the country whatever happens, hopefully it breaks the monopoly at the top— Brian Deane (@deanobri1968) December 15, 2015
The 'monopoly at the top' looks set to break up somewhat regardless of what Leicester do, thanks to the terrible form of Chelsea this season.
The Blues are the reigning champions but this season has been a disaster, and they currently sit in 16th place in the league, only one point ahead of Norwich City who sit in 18th.
Barring an incredible second half of the season fightback, there will be at least one change in the top four, and Leicester will have to ensure they beat the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool to secure a top four finish - but right now their aspirations may remarkably be even higher.
