Alessandro Diamanti is backing his former side Fiorentina to topple Tottenham.
Watford midfielder Alessandro Diamanti has been giving his views on the Europa League draw and how his former side Fiorentina will cope.
Fiorentina face Tottenham in the last 16 for the second year in succession, and will be hoping to knock out the North London side.
Diamanti was at Fiorentina last season and is backing his former teammates to do the job once again despite Tottenham's talent.
He told Tuttomercatoweb: "The names to watch are familiar, they have players like Kane, Lamela, and the Korean Son and Korean. They are very strong in terms of individuality, but I think that Fiorentina is more of a team.
"Besides, even last year they were favourites but we passed. The Italians in general are better at manage the results over two matches and therefore in the knockout stage have with them the right mindset."
Fiorentina are one of the tougher draws Tottenham could have landed, but this time around they do have one advantage compared to the previous year.
This past February, Spurs went into the second leg game knowing they had a Capital One Cup final against Chelsea days later, and played like a team with greater focus on this, with Harry Kane left on the bench.
It did not pay off as they lost the Wembley match, but this time around there at least will not be that distraction to cope with.
