Newcastle face Villa in what will be a relegation six-pointer on Saturday, and they go into the match in good form.
The Magpies have beaten Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in their two most recent outings, and Henry is backing them to make it three out of three.
“You would fancy them to win it the way they are playing,” he said.
“McClaren has talked about commitment and desire, it is something we have rarely seen from Newcastle away from home. They’re usually lethargic and when they go behind they crumble. But this was a great response from the team [against Tottenham].”
Newcastle’s 2-0 win over Liverpool two weeks ago was highly impressive, and they backed up that victory by putting in another good display at White Hart Lane.
The Magpies have been frustratingly inconsistent this term, but their back-to-back victories have increased optimism around St. James’ Park considerably.
Villa, meanwhile, go into the contest short of form and confidence.
The Villans are without a win in their last 15 Premier League matches and they are already eight points adrift of safety.
Another defeat would be disastrous for Remi Garde’s side, as they will need to improve hugely if they are to have any chance of moving away from danger.
