Spanish international Pedro was at the centre of a drawn out transfer saga this summer.
He had been expected to sign for Manchester United, with SkySports claiming he had agreed personal terms over a move.
Days later it was instead Chelsea who had snapped him up, with various stories put forward as to why. There was a claim that he had turned down United after seeing how former teammate Victor Valdes was poorly treated by manager Louis van Gaal, in hand with suggestions Cesc Fabregas had stepped in to convince him to join the Blues.
Van Gaal refuted this, telling The Telegraph he had not been interested in signing Pedro, and if he wanted him, he would already have been a United player.
This was going on as United sold Javier Hernandez and Angel di Maria, and had not yet bought Anthony Martial.
When Pedro made an immediate impact on his debut, it looked like a disastrous decision for United not to push for the Spanish international, and a coup by the Blues to snap him up.
Months on, and Chelsea have not reaped the benefit. They currently sit 16th in the Premier League, with Pedro poor in the club's defeat to Leicester, despite providing a late assist for a consolation goal.
United have their own problems at present, and it's tough to convincingly say he would have transformed them either, but it's clear supporters have not forgotten, and are relishing in the fact he is struggling for Chelsea.
Here is a look at the reaction from United fans to his performance...
Probably the only decent thing LVG has done at United was turning down the chance to sign Pedro #mufc— Kristofer Penrice (@Bibba87) December 14, 2015
To be fair to LVG, everyone was telling him to sign Mangala, Otamendi, Lacazette, Pedro ect..and they aint turned up this season #MUFC— I'm Legally Blind (@Its_Brenner1) December 14, 2015
Could b worse we could also have pedro on our payroll #mufc— daniellemufcwld (@princess_china1) December 14, 2015
