Arsenal legend Ian Wright said on the BBC Radio 5 live 606 on Sunday evening that Tottenham Hotspur attacker Erik Lamela did not do much against Newcastle United at the weekend.
Lamela, who can play as a winger or as an attacking midfielder, started the Premier League game at White Hart Lane in North London on Sunday evening and played for 86 minutes.
The Argentina international took three shots, had a pass accuracy of 71%, created three chances, put in four crosses, attempted two dribbles, and made one block.
While analysing Tottenham’s performance against Newcastle, former Arsenal striker Wright said on BBC Radio 5 live 606 on Sunday evening: “Lamela, you know, he didn’t really do too much for me today. He had a great chance, I think the goalkeeper made a great save.”
Tottenham lost the encounter 2-1, despite taking the lead in the first half. The North London outfit are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 26 points from 16 matches.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are just three points behind Manchester United, who are currently fourth in the standings and occupy the final Champions League spot.
