Hoddle on what he thought of Mahrez when he played against QPR

Riyad Mahrez has been in superb form for Leicester City so far this season.

Former Queens Park Rangers first-team coach Glenn Hoddle has written on Unibet.co.uk that he rated Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez from last season.

Hoddle has revealed that he knew that 24-year-old Algeria international is a top player from the moment he played against Rangers last season.

“I remember watching Mahrez play against us when I was a coach at QPR last season, and I thought he looked a top player,” the Tottenham Hotspur legend has written on Unibet.co.uk.

Mahrez has been on the books of Leicester since January 2014 and is one of the best players for the club.

The Algerian has been in superb form so far this campaign and has been key in the Foxes’ rise up the Premier League table.

The former Le Havre star has scored 10 goals and created 31 chances in 14 league matches for Leicester this season.

Mahrez has a pass accuracy of 74% and a shot accuracy of 63%, and has won 12 headers, 50 dribbles and 18 tackles.

Leicester are third in the Premier League table at the moment with 32 points from 15 matches, a point behind Arsenal.

The Foxes will go top tonight if they defeat defending English champions Chelsea at the King Power Stadium.
