Ayoze Perez says Newcastle's fans inspired their weekend win.
Newcastle United match winner Ayoze Perez is still on a high from his late goal against Spurs which took his team to their second win in succession.
Perez's late effort squirmed underneath Hugo Lloris to ensure his side climbed above Chelsea in the table - a position they remain in after the Blues lost to Leicester.
Perez posted photos of the team celebrating with the away support at White Hart Lane, explaining that the passion of the fans drove them on to win the game.
The Spaniard was a late substitute in the game, and will have heard the away fans chanting relentlessly throughout even when Newcastle trailed 1-0 for much of the game.
Along with striker and summer signing Aleksander Mitrovic, Perez came off the bench to reward that support, and as he expressed via Twitter last night, he struggled to put it into words.
There is one way he can repay them further - by letting his actions speak louder than words, and staying at the club and resisting any interest from Premier League rivals, including the team he beat at the weekend.
