The winger was handed his first start in the draw with Stoke on Saturday.
The winger has had to wait for his chance since joining from Nottingham Forest in the summer, with just several substitute appearances so far.
With injuries having ravaged Slaven Bilic’s squad in recent weeks though, he has been presented with a chance to stake his claim for a regular first team list.
He certainly did that with an all action performance against the Potters in his first start, and he says it was unbelievable to be given the nod.
“It felt unbelievable to get a chance," he told whufc.com.
"This was my boyhood dream to play in the Premier League and I've managed that. I got Man of the Match on my first start so hopefully I can keep pushing on and doing well.”
"Playing at Old Trafford last week set me up well for this game. It showed me the levels of the league and it was a good 50 minutes."
With so many injuries currently limiting Slaven Bilic’s options at such a crucial stage of the season, Antonio has a real chance to prove a point to his manager.
His impressive performance against Stoke will have certainly gone some way to doing that, but he will have to do more than put in one good display to command a first team spot in future.
West Ham fans will certainly be excited by what they have seen though, and will be hoping he can help to turn around their fading form of late.
