The Scotland international is loving life at Hillsborough.
Sheffield Wednesday are flying high this season and many fans have real hopes that the Yorkshire club can make their way back to the Premier League this term.
The club invested heavily in the summer with plenty of foreign talent making their way to Hillsborough but perhaps the best piece of business was to bring in Scotland international Barry Bannan in from Crystal Palace on a one year deal.
The diminutive midfielder has been in tremendous form. He scored his first goal for the club this weekend in the 2-2 draw with Cardiff City.
He has featured in 15 games for the club since making the switch, which lasts until the end of the season.
Now he has made it clear that he wants to stay with The Owls.
He told the official Sheffield Wednesday website this weekend:
"First and foremost I’ve enjoyed it here and the fans have taken to me.
“I enjoy the way we play football, this way suits my game perfectly and I’m thriving on it on because the gaffer has given me great confidence, so why would you want to leave?”
Of course it is a massive possibility that he will stay but his contract situation still has fans fretting. Bannan is out of contract at the end of the season meaning he will be free to go as he pleases next summer.
But it looks like he is happy with Wednesday and hopefully he will be with the club for years to come.
