Rangers fans react on Twitter to James Tavernier's performance during Ibrox draw

Rangers drew 2-2 at home to Greenock Morton on Saturday.

Rangers' shaky recent performances continued on Saturday afternoon as they could only manage a 2-2 home draw with Morton.

Kenny Miller put Rangers in front after just two minutes, but an own goal from James Tavernier and a Stefan McCluskey strike put Morton on the verge of a shock victory.

However, Mark Warburton's men did manage to snatch a point, with Martyn Waghorn sweeping home a late equaliser - and whilst it was a major boost, Rangers' 100% winning record at home this season has now come to an end.

After the game, Rangers fans took to Twitter to vent their frustrations - and aimed their criticism in the direction of right back James Tavernier.

The summer signing from Wigan Athletic, Tavernier has hit ten goals in 23 games for Rangers, earning plenty of plaudits for his attacking play from right back.

However, the Englishman's form has dipped of late, and his own goal capped off a particularly tough time for the ex-Newcastle defender.

Rangers fans were particularly critical of Tavernier after the final whistle, stating that he needs to improve quickly, with some even suggesting that Fraser Aird should be given a chance at right back in his place, though others moved to defend him, citing that the whole Rangers team are off the boil right now.

Here are some of the reactions from Rangers fans on Twitter after the 2-2 draw with Morton on Saturday afternoon, with Tavernier receiving criticism...
