The midfield enforcer has shaken off a knock, but Mauricio Pochettino is without the Belgian and Cameroonian.
Tottenham have confirmed on their official website that midfield lynchpin Eric Dier is set to face Newcastle later today despite receiving a knock against Monaco, but Mousa Dembele and Clinton Njie are unavailable.
The newly capped England international came off in the 4-1 victory in the Europa League on Thursday night, but this was a precautionary measure.
Dier looks set to retain his spot in the heart of the Spurs midfield, which could keep the returning Nabil Bentaleb on the fringes.
In less fortunate news, the club’s official website has also confirmed that the White Hart Lane outfit will be without Dembele and Njie.
The Belgian has been in excellent form this season but has been struggling for fitness due to a foot injury.
Njie has made a number of impressive cameos since his summer move from Lyon but has picked up a knee injury and will not be in Pochettino’s matchday squad.
With Manchester United losing at Bournemouth yesterday, the home faithful will know that three points against Steve McClaren’s men will lift the side into the top four today.
