Jurgen Klopp makes an interesting comment regarding January transfers

Liverpool have been linked with a host of names ahead of January.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says right now he isn’t thinking about the January before hinting at a quiet transfer window by discussing his squad’s depth in length, The Sun report.

With January just around the corner, Liverpool have been linked with a number of players and reports in Turkey’s editorial Takvim claims Kevin Grosskreutz is set to become Klopp’s first signing.

But the Reds’ coach remains tight-lipped on potential targets, and with players such as Jordan Henderson and Jon Flanagan coming back from injury, Klopp hints that January could be a quiet month.

“If we need something we will do it, not talk about it before. In this moment I don’t think about it,” he said.

“No one should be in doubt that we are not prepared for any situation. Flanno will come back next week, then we will have two left-backs, two right-backs.”

“We have four centre-backs when Mamadou Sakho is back and in midfield we have Hendo back, so that’s like a new option for us.”

“We have other offensive players and we have more strikers than others, so where is the space?”

Giving players time to prove themselves:

Jurgen Klopp’s comments suggest that he is willing to give his Liverpool players time to prove themselves good enough for where he wants to take them rather than replacing them early.

The Reds boast a big squad, and there are a number of players which have yet to feature under Klopp.

While some may have struggled under previous management, Klopp has a different way of working and it appears he would like to gauge a proper opinion of them before making any big calls.

The season hasn’t reached the halfway stage yet, and with Liverpool just six points behind the top four there is still all to play for and little reason why the current players can’t step up to the task.
