TEAMtalk are reporting that West Ham sent scouts to watch the player recently, with Leicester City continuing to monitor his progress.
The dynamic right-back has been one of the most impressive players in the Championship this season after Burnley won the battle to sign him this summer.
The 23-year-old had impressed at previous club Chesterfield and Burnley beat other Championship teams to his coveted signature.
So how does he compare to current West Ham incumbent Carl Jenkinson?
|Position||Team||Blocked Cross GAME||Won Tackle GAME||Total Clearance GAME||Duel Won GAME||Aerial Won GAME||Interception GAME||Fouls GAME||Appearances||Mins Played|
|Carl Jenkinson||DF||West Ham||0.54||1.15||3.31||3||0.85||1.31||0.85||13||1,024|
From the table above it is clear to see that there is not much difference between the pair. Darikwa has blocked more crosses, won more tackles and more interceptions per game. Jenkinson is marginally better in the air, but commits more fouls by a similar margin. However, he makes more clearances.
Take into account however that Jenkinson is playing in the Premier League and the difference between the two leagues might account for some of the discrepancies.
So what about going forward?
|Position||Team||Goal Assist GAME||Total Att Assist GAME||Goals GAME||Total Scoring Att GAME||Accurate Cross GAME||Accurate Pass GAME||Appearances||Mins Played|
|Carl Jenkinson||DF||West Ham||0||0.38||0.15||0.54||0.46||25.15||13||1,024|
Again it is marginal but Darikwa once again just shades it.
With Arsenal seemingly set to have Jenkinson back at the end of the season, it looks like the Burnley star might be perfect as his West Ham replacement.
