Tottenham will take on the Magpies at White Hart Lane in the Premier League on Sunday, and former Newcastle striker Owen has backed the home team to pick up all three points.
The former Liverpool and Manchester United striker has also predicted Spurs striker Harry Kane to score the opening goal of the encounter.
“As mentioned, I think Newcastle were flattered in their 2-0 defeat of Liverpool at St James’ Park on Sunday albeit their energy levels seemed much improved and I expect Spurs to bring the Magpies back down to earth at the Lane,” Owen has written on Betvictor.com.
“Harry Kane looks set to be rested for Thursday’s Europa League fixture with Monaco and with him fit and raring to go on Sunday Mauricio Pochettino’s side should seal all three points in North London.”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Harry Kane to score the first goal at 14/5 with BetVictor.”
Tottenham will indeed head into the game against Newcastle on Sunday as favourites. The North London outfit have a better team and are at home. Moreover, Mauricio Pochettino’s side in better form.
Newcastle will head into the encounter at White Hart Lane on the back of a 2-0 victory over Liverpool at St. James’ Park.
That win will have certainly boosted the confidence of the Newcastle players, but that may not be enough to pick up all three points from the match in North London.
