Dutch international Nigel de Jong speaks out amid Leicester City transfer reports

Sneijder, Robben and De Jong Netherlands

The AC Milan midfielder has been on the sidelines in Italy this season.

This week it has been reported that Leicester City are interested in signing the Dutch international Nigel de Jong from AC Milan.

The former Manchester City destroyer has 80 caps for the Dutch national team and is a well decorated defensive midfielder.

However, he has fallen out of favour at the San Siro this season and Calcio Mercato reported that Claudio Ranieri is interested in bringing him to the King Power Stadium, after being unimpressed with Gokhan Inler since his arrival from Napoli.

Now the 31-year-old himself has commented on the interest.

He is quoted by Tutto Mercato Web as stating:

"I do not want to talk now about my future, I have a contract here for three years and do not want to talk about the market.

"Form? For me nothing changes, we have to win because we lost too many points on the road. "

So it seems that De Jong is happy to remain at Milan for the time being, despite not being in the plans of Sinisa Mihajlovic.

The Dutchman has played just five games for Milan this term but would bring vital experience to the Leicester team.

Not to forget, The Foxes are currently in an unlikely fight for the Premier League title - something that De Jong managed to do in 2012 with Manchester City.
