Wolverhampton Wanderers are leading the chase for Hartlepool United starlet Brad Walker, HITC Sport understands from sources close to a potential deal.

The teenager has come through the ranks at Victoria Park to graduate into the senior set-up.

He was plucked from the youth side by Colin Cooper in 2013 and he has gone on to become a first team regular and has featured in nearly 100 games.

Pools boss Ronnie Moore has not used him every game this season, but despite that a number of Premier League and Championship clubs are taking a keen interest in the 19-year-old.

HITC Sport understands that Wolves were given permission to take Walker on trial and he has spent this week with Kenny Jackett's side.

Hartlepool are believed to be expecting Walker to leave next month, with there an acceptance on their part that they cannot hold a promising talent back when clubs higher up the footballing food chain come calling.
