Toby Alderweireld praises Tottenham Hotspur's work ethic

Tottenham Hotspur have shown great desire over the season so far.

Toby Alderweireld has told the London Evening Standard that he believes Tottenham Hotspur’s squad’s greatest strength is their work ethic.

Tottenham have shown a great desire to improve this season, while their on-pitch performances have also highlighted their commitment.

Spurs have outrun most teams they have faced this season, and it has served them well, as they have managed to go unbeaten in their last 14 Premier League matches.

And Alderweireld said: “We are doing well but we can improve. We know our strength is working hard so we have to keep doing that. At home we have to take the three points against Newcastle.”

As well as their impressive domestic form, Tottenham have also put together some excellent showings in Europe.

Spurs have topped their Europa League group, and they won their latest fixture 4-1 against Monaco.

The Lilywhites made a number of changes to their team which faced the Ligue 1 outfit, but Spurs’ performance proved that the entire squad are buying into Mauricio Pochettino’s ethos.

Tottenham were totally comfortable against Monaco, and a hat-trick from Erik Lamela and a late Tom Carroll strike provided them with another victory.

Spurs will now be looking to guard against complacency ahead of their Premier League match against Newcastle United this weekend.
