The Magpies forward is encouraged by the faith shown in him at St James' Park.
Indeed, the 30-year-old forward featured for Newcastle against Liverpool last week, as McClaren's men beat the Reds 2-0 in a shock win.
And Cisse is pleased to be back in the first-team fold, thanking both team-mates and his manager for supporting him.
Cisse is quoted as saying by the Chronicle: "I try to do my job every minute they give me. I have to play well every time.
"It’s not easy sometimes but I have to keep my head up and take my chances and show something for the gaffer and the players as well.
"The players believe in me, and the gaffer as well. Sometimes I get five minutes but the gaffer is giving me 80 or 90 minutes (at the moment) and I’m happy."
With Cisse's future unclear over the summer, it will no doubt be a source of encouragement for the 30-year-old that he is back in the first-team fold at Newcastle.
In terms of strength in depth up front, it will also be a source of encouragement for Magpies fans.
Indeed, even Emmanuel Riviere was pictured back in training this week and, if Cisse can be entrusted up top too, Newcastle will have a wide array of options in the final third.
No one should get carried away on Tyneside, though, as the St James' Park outfit face Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane this weekend.
