Sunderland will face Watford at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
“If Leicester have been a revelation, then Watford are not far behind them in the ‘surprise stakes’ with only five losses in their opening 15 games, and currently sitting 10th in the table after four wins in their last six matches,” Owen has written on Colossusbets.com.
“Compare that to Sunderland’s three wins all season – though, to be fair, two of those came immediately before their predictable away loss at Arsenal last weekend – and 19th league position, and you have to favour the away side, for all that Big Sam has made an impact on the Mackems.
“I take Watford to win either 2-1 or 1-0, with 1-1 added in.”
Sunderland are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with just 12 points from 15 matches.
The Black Cats are only a point behind 17th-place Bournemouth and are in a position to escape the drop to the Championship at the end of the season.
Sam Allardyce’s side will head into Saturday’s game on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal away from home at the Emirates Stadium in North London.
Meanwhile, Watford, who got promoted from the Championship at the end of last season, are currently 10th in the standings with 22 points from 15 games.
The Hornets are doing better than expected and will head into Saturday’s encounter on the back of a 2-0 victory over Norwich City at Vicarage Road.
