Supporters were understandably impressed as the Serb managed to do what no Liverpool player could on Thursday night.
While Liverpool topped their Europa League group on Thursday night, supporters were left a little bored to say the least with their side's 0-0 draw against FC Sion.
That prompted a wide array of reaction from the Reds faithful, many of whom now suggest they didn't want the 21-year-old to be loaned out...
Don't get too carried away
One things Liverpool fans shouldn't do is place too much pressure on the Serb - or forget some of the bad moments during his time at Anfield.
Markovic clearly came into his Liverpool career far too confident. There was almost an arrogance about him as he took to the Premier League. But that soon disappeared as he put in a series of poor displays - without showing any heart or determination in so doing.
But the 21-year-old did show some good moments and there is certainly hope for a quick, young player under Jurgen Klopp. After all, the German has already got Divock Origi scoring hat-tricks...
Here's how Liverpool fans reacted on Twitter to Markovic's performance for Fenerbahce against Celtic:
We have no pace out wide at all, no one to get in behind the full backs. Maybe we should consider signing that Markovic lad? #LFC— LFC (@KopMatt) December 10, 2015
Markovic scoring aswell well done Brendan loaning him out absolutely brilliant idea #LFC— Anthony (@dickson87) December 10, 2015
Markovic would have striver under Klopp. A real shame, hopefully he comes back in summer as a better player. #LFC— Finlay Russell (@mrfinlayrussell) December 10, 2015
